The Bebington Group was formed in 1975, eight years after the formation of the main society. We were the first group to be formed on the Wirral and were originally called the Wirral Group. Following the formation of three other groups on the Wirral we changed our name to Bebington Group in 2001 to reflect the area where we hold our meetings.  Following the closure of other local groups, we now consider that we cover the whole of the old Hundred of Wirral, with the exception of the northern end of the peninsula which is served by the Wallasey Group (those with research interests to the south-east of the peninsula may find they are better served by the Chester Group).

2. Our monthly meeting also usually includes a “Top Tips” talk focussing on particular websites or other sources which may be of particular interest for specific types of record.

3. We have a number of CD's available for loan. We also have magazines, books and stationery for sale.

We normally have at least one outing during the year, usually a guided tour around a local place of interest.
